LotusSphere Comes to You and IBM SWG Conferences

This is my first blog on developerWorks India blog space and thought let me start with sharing some information about a marketing event called "Lotussphere Comes to You".

Some background for those who do not know what LotusSphere is all about - a quick summary in my own words :

IBM software Group has 5 brands - WebSphere, Information Management, Lotus, Tivoli and Rational.

Each of these brands have their grand "marketing event of the year" that typically happens in one of the event friendly cities (Orlando / Las Vegas) in U.S.

1. WebSphere brand runs the Smart SOA flag and the "IMPACT" conference is happening in May in Vegas
2. Rational event is called "Rational Software Development Conference" and the 2009 event schedule is yet to be announced.
3. Tivoli's Pulse 2009 (a Tivoli Technical User Conference) got over on 12th Feb last week.
4. The Information Management calls it "IOD - Information on Demand" Conference and it is happening in October in 2009.
5. Finally for Lotus - "LotusSphere" is the event and it was held in Orlando in January 2009.

Echo / Flavor (or whatever you may choose to call it) of almost each of these events happens locally within the country- to convey the message to market about the new offerings/announcements that happened at the Global event.

Lotus is running the "LotusSphere Comes to You" in three metros in 2009 and this is happening next week... my blog comes too late for those who really intend to attend and apologies for the same... but for those who read this and make for this event, please do attend it and provide me the feedback on my blog. I and my colleague Aryender Sharma who leads the Lotus Lab Services brand will be present at the event in Mumbai on Tuesday and hope to interact with customers, partners and most importantly developers.. :-)
