Often enough in my discussions with customers/partners and the developer community I get asked about where can we find the relevant information about the various IBM products and technology and everytime my answer has been and continues to be the developerWorks (http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/) website.
The IBM developerWorks website is made up of the developer community and is for the developer community. Anyone who works on any of the IBM products or technologies and is willing to share their technical excellence or piece of work which they think is useful for the larger developer community is welcome to do so by publishing an article on developerWorks.
If you think that there is some piece of information missing which needs to be there on the website for e.g. things like
- how to do install/configure/integrate a particular product
- how to write a particular program using a particular IDE
- what are the best practices for a given technology
- tips on performance and benchmarking.
Now, the next obvious question that comes to our mind is "What is in it for me?"
Well, by publishing a developerWorks article, you are not only contributing to the developer community but you are also increasing your visibility in the community.
The introduction of dW Author Achievement Recognition Program does just that.
You can read more details about this progam here : http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/aboutdw/dwa/index.html
